The Chicago Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals in 11 innings yesterday in a hard-fought game of baseball. With the win, Caridad’s record goes to 1-0, while Boggs is at 2-3. Carlos Marmol earned the save for the Cubs, bringing his saves up to 14.

In addition to the 6 runs, the Cubs scored 10 hits and committed one error. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Cubs, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. The Cardinals didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. Ryan Ludwick could not get much going at the plate as he left 8 runners on base. The Cardinals got 3 runs, 7 hits and one error.
