Cardinals spanked by Dodgers at Dodger Stadium

The Los Angeles Dodgers blasted the St. Louis Cardinals yesterday at Dodger Stadium with the Dodgers triumphant 12 to 4. You don’t often see such high scoring games, and anyone with Dodgers tickets sure got their money’s worth. This high-scoring game saw the teams combine for a whopping 16 runs! Talk about excitement! Dodgers pitcher Carlos Monasterios (2.27 ERA) got the win, while Blake Hawksworth (6.48 ERA) took the loss for the Cardinals. Carlos Monasterios went 6 innings for the Dodgers, allowed 4 hits, 2 home runs and 3 earned runs with 3 walks and no strikeouts. Also pitching for the Dodgers was Justin Miller (1.23), and Jon Link (4.15). The Cardinals’s starter Blake Hawksworth went 4 innings, allowed 7 hits, no home runs and 6 earned runs with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. P.J. Walters (7.94) also pitched for the Cardinals. With the win, Monasterios’s record goes to 3-0, while Hawksworth falls to 0-3.

Blake DeWitt provided much of the offense for the Dodgers with an incredible 5 runs batted in. In addition to the 12 runs, the Dodgers managed 14 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Dodgers, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. The Cardinals didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Cardinals mustered 4 runs, 7 hits and no errors.
