Randy Wolf went 6.1 solid innings for the Brewers, allowed 4 hits, one home run and one earned run with one walk and 4 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Brewers was Kameron Loe (0.49). The Cardinals’s starter Blake Hawksworth went 6 innings, allowed 6 hits, 2 home runs and 3 earned runs with one walk and 7 strikeouts. Dennys Reyes (2.86), Fernando Salas (1.23), and Mitchell Boggs (2.65) also pitched for the Cardinals. With the win, Wolf’s record goes to 6-7, while Hawksworth falls to 2-5. John Axford earned the save for the Brewers, bringing his saves up to 9.
In addition to the 4 runs, the Brewers managed 8 hits and committed no errors. Alcides Escobar led the Brewers in hitting with 3 hits, followed by George Kottaras’s one hit. The Cardinals didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. Colby Rasmus could not get much going at the plate as he left 4 runners on base.
