The St. Louis Cardinals did battle with the the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday at Busch Stadium with the Cardinals picking up the W 5 to 1. Romero (3.15), and Jose Contreras (4.02) also pitched for the Phillies. With the win, Garcia’s record goes to 9-4, while Blanton is at 3-6. Ryan Franklin earned the save for the Cardinals, bringing his saves up to 18.
In addition to the 5 runs, the Cardinals scored 7 hits and committed one error. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Cardinals, as nobody managed more than 2 hits.
