Braves lose to Cardinals 7-3

The St. Louis Cardinals did battle with the the Atlanta Braves yesterday at Turner Field with the Cardinals picking up the W 7 to 3. It was one heck of a game that folks with Cards baseball tickets aren’t likely to forget. Baseball isn’t the only game in town. See what other cheap sports tickets are out there.

Cardinals pitcher Kyle Lohse (6.85 ERA) got the win, while Tim Hudson (2.62 ERA) took the loss for the Braves. Kyle Lohse went 5.1 innings for the Cardinals, allowed 9 hits, no home runs and 2 earned runs with one walk and one strikeout. Also pitching for the Cardinals was Blake Hawksworth (4.90), and Fernando Salas (1.90). The Braves’s starter Tim Hudson went 5 innings, allowed 9 hits, 2 home runs and 6 earned runs with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Peter Moylan (3.20), Mike Dunn (0.00), Scott Proctor (6.75), Eric O’Flaherty (2.38), Craig Kimbrel (0.73), and Cristhian Martinez (3.80) also pitched for the Braves. With the win, Lohse’s record goes to 3-7, while Hudson is at 15-8.

In addition to the 7 runs, the Cardinals scored 13 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Cardinals, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Alex Gonzalez had the most hits for the Braves (3), followed by Nate McLouth (2), and Jason Heyward (2). Martin Prado could not get much going at the plate as he left 4 runners on base. The Braves managed 3 runs, 11 hits and one error.

Umpiring duties were performed by Bill Welke, Mike DiMuro, Tim Welke and Jim Reynolds. There were 27,156 Braves ticket holders in attendance at Turner Field.
